Aura & its eight colors

Each color follows its own rules. Height, weather, and routing all matter.

How aura moves

Nodes store each color separately. Natural transfer periodically considers clear links at the same height or lower, the difference between source and neighbor, a reserve at the sender, distance, and the color's movement rules. Nearby links receive more weight.

Falling aura generates work power based on the amount transferred, the fall distance, and the color's effective weight. Zero-weight colors do not provide an ordinary power-producing fall.

Color reference

ColorBehaviorWhat to consider
WhiteOrdinary weight and ascent; no passive loss.A steady starter color and straightforward storage choice.
BlackVertical movement only; zero effective weight.A Pump cannot lift it, and its fall yields no power.
OrangeHorizontal movement only; zero effective weight. Can induce current in nearby nodes along its transfer direction.
RedNearby TNT just before explosion, or a Creeper near detonation, can give it upward lift. The lift depends on stored Red and height. Treat it as an explosion-linked system.
YellowStronger ascent, followed by passive charge loss.Plan for the loss while routing and storing it.
GreenTwice ordinary effective weight by day; half by night.Day and night change both lifting and falling behavior.
BlueFourfold ascent boost in rain; half-factor ascent in dry weather.Your weather changes network performance.
VioletGrows from smaller stored reserves, dissipates at 25 or less, and clears above 2,600 on a passive tick.Manage the stored range instead of simply filling a Node.

Control the route

Blocking the direct line between nodes closes that link. The encyclopedia suggests a cobblestone block and sticky piston as a simple valve. Allow up to 200 ticks for a scan; other open links can still transfer.

Redstone-powered ordinary Nodes stop outgoing transfer while still accepting incoming aura. Conserving Nodes provide another option when a network must remain on one level.
