Kaleidoscopic enchanting
Add colors to a tool or weapon, then combine their effects.
Apply an enchantment
Drop a supported weapon or digger tool and a colored Arcane Ingot near a powered Kaleidoscopic Enchanter. The first color level always binds. Further levels and colors have a diminishing chance.
The ingot is consumed even when the attempt fails. The book describes a 75% multiplier to prior chance and a further quartering after a color exceeds level four.
Single-color effects
| Color | Effect |
|---|---|
| Red | Temporary Silk Touch and block-XP suppression. |
| Orange | Harvestable-tool mining speed ×1.15 per level. |
| Yellow | Fortune for non-crop harvests. |
| Green | Fells up to 25 × level face-connected same-type logs. |
| Blue | Knockback on attack. |
| Violet | Adds 0.5 × level outgoing player-sourced damage. |
Combining colors
Pair strength is the square root of the two levels multiplied together, rounded up. These combinations have distinct effects:
| Pair | Effect |
|---|---|
| Yellow + Green | Breaks connected growable blocks. |
| Blue + Violet | Splash damage. |
| Green + Blue | Self-healing. |
| Yellow + Blue | Fire. |
| Red + Violet | Incoming-damage reduction. |
| Yellow + Violet | Transient Looting roll. |
| Yellow + Red | Eligible ore-to-ingot conversion. |
| Red + Green | Mining slowdown. |
| Red + Blue | Recoil. |
| Green + Violet | Damage reduction. |
Orange has additional mining-speed pairings by block family. Consult the Encyclopedia's enchantment matrix for the full set and its exact applicable targets. The modern port uses modern hooks for these effects; identical behavior across every legacy-mod interaction is not promised.
